Flower City Ballet Presents Tchaikvosky's “The Nutcracker” at Stuart Steiner Theatre on the campus of Genesee Community College on December 29th and 30th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday!
The full production of Flower City Ballet's Tchaikvosky's “The Nutcracker” is coming to Batavia's Steiner Theatre on the campus of Genesee Community College. Artistic Director Wayne Blatt was born and raised in Batavia and performed as Premier Danseur with The Genesee Civic Ballet for 17 years under the renowned Liana Haeusler. This production includes original choreography from Mrs. Haeusler's many Batavia based “Nutcrackers”. Mr. Blatt is very proud to feature this performance in Batavia and is dedicating this production to his respected teacher's legacy.
Performers from four other Fingerlakes area dance studio's are included and range in ages from 7 years old and beyond; including many with marked ballet, theatre accomplishments and professional aspirations. The cast of over 30 performers including the Sugarplum Fairy, The Snow Pas De Deux, The Flowers.
